The waitress brought the drinks.
Tennessee tasted the rum first, then poured himself a cup of tea. I decided he liked rum better than tea.
He began to talk to Yacoubi.
‘Have you met any nice girls since you got back from America ?’
‘Only one. Just one. She's a Moroccan who's studying in the States.’
‘Isn't one enough ?’ asked Tennessee.
‘No. Or yes, but only if I've chosen her among dozens of girls.’
‘What Yacoubi'd really like is a complete harem,’ I said.
We laughed.
‘One handsome boy is enough for me,’ said Tennessee, ‘A boy who just happens by.’
‘So you don't want a harem?’ I said.
‘No. Harems are always very tiring. They're no fun.’
